Favorite Uses for Vinegar

Dilute it with
water or used full strength for tough jobs. It's inexpensive and available
every where and is a super alternative to bleach. In most cases you should
rinse surfaces afterwards.
Clean surfaces
like countertops, chopping blocks, brass, copper, pewter, showers and tubs,
glass windows, stainless steel, glass vases, even fish bowls
Kill grass
and weeds in your lawn by spraying them on a hot, sunny day.
Mix half-and-half
with water to blot up animal urine stains and keep them away.
Polish chrome
on cars.
Clean rust
from metal.
Prevent frost
on car windows in the winter. Mix 3 parts vinegar and 1 part water and coat
car windows the night before a freeze.
Great for soothing
jellyfish or wasp stings.
Clean mineral
deposits from appliances like washing machines, coffee makers, dishwashers.
Pour some in and run it through an empty cycle.
Unclog steam
iron holes by putting vinegar in iron and heating it up. Rinse afterwards.
Set a bowl
of vinegar in a room to dispel odors of all kinds.
Mix with baking
soda to unclog a drain.
Great cleaning
alternative to bleach.
Gets rid of
soap scum and mildew.
Unclogs shower
heads.
Mixed with
linseed oil it makes a great wood cleaner.
Clean woodwork
with mix of 1 cup ammonia and ½ cup of vinegar and ¼ cup baking
soda and 1 cup warm water.
It makes the
best window cleaner. |
